It’s time for my monthly recap – here’s a snapshot of November in pictures!

This month, most of my pictures come from Switzerland. In mid-November, Lena Svendsen and I took a very early Sunday morning flight to attend the SSbD24 Conference. SSbD stands for Safe and Sustainable by Design, a framework with the potential to transform the chemical industry. It’s inspiring to see such hopeful initiatives taking shape.

The conference was held at Monte Verità (the Mountain of Truth). We stayed halfway down the hill toward Ascona, enjoying nice views during our daily walks – one of my photos captures that. Another photo features the stunning castles of Bellinzona, a nearby UNESCO World Heritage site. (More pictures from that place on my travel blog).

As part of the IRISS – International SSbD Community and on behalf of IKEM – Innovations- och kemiindustrierna i Sverige, we organized two Early Career Researcher events during the conference. I think the pictures shows the energy and fun. This project has been such a joy to work on – a great team and short, productive meetings from start to finish. (Thank you all!) While I’m a little sad my part is complete, I’m happy to be able to spend more time on my book project on the history of the French Riviera.

November wasn’t all about work – I made time to enjoy the outdoors with friends. Highlights include lunch with a mountain view, Sunday coffee by a lake outside Stockholm, and a photo walk along the sea in Halland. I even managed to fit in some early-season skiing (twice!).
Thank you to everyone who was part of this month. Here’s to an equally fun December – with perhaps a bit more sleep!

This monthly recap is previously published on LinkedIn.
